It’ll also be capable of reminding the owner of upcoming events like meetings etc, one of the most awaited feature of Hyundai Voice Control will be, driver will be able to control their electronic devices at home via the voice commands given right from their driving seats. Hyundai is already offering the opposite functionality, enabling drivers to control functions on their cars from home via devices that are compatible with Amazon Alexa.
With the upcoming Intelligent Personal Assistant, drivers can do the things over voice once they had to control manually example of such features are locking / unlocking the doors, controlling the sunroof, and even controlling the air conditioning system, Hyundai voice control would be capable enough that driver can even say two commands in a single sentence and the system would be able to perform each task separately.
The automaker has teamed up with SoundHound, an audio recognition technology company based in California, for the new feature. This personal assistant is a step toward connected cars that will also offer advanced artificial intelligence technologies. Hyundai will be demonstrating this feature in a concept vehicle cockpit at the 2018 CES Show in Las Vegas in January.
According to our sources the automaker will also test out a simplified version of the personal assistant on next generation fuel cell vehicles in Korea early next year. Initially, the personal assistant will understand only English, we can expect other regional languages sooner or later.
